Treox is a fast acting liquid disinfectant, It doesn’t contain alcohol, surfactants, preservatives and is free from oil or fats. It is made from Hypochlorous acid which is a free chlorine molecule that It is a much more powerful oxidant than sodium hypochlorite (or chlorine bleach). This is because Hypochlorous acid is a neutrally charged molecule, and since bacteria have negatively charged cell walls they do not repel the solvent. On the contrary, the negatively charged molecule of bleach (OCL-) is repelled by bacterial cell walls and doesn’t degenerate the bacterial cells effectively . This is not the case with HOCL which is neutrally charged. HOCL easily penetrates bacterial cell walls and it either oxidizes the cell walls killing the bacteria or enters through the cell walls and destroys the vital components inside the bacteria.
